AHLG Obtains General Discharge in Drug Abuse Case

A Staff Sergeant at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas was charged with violations of the UCMJ regarding drug use. The command and the prosecution had referred the case to a special court martial, where the Staff Sergeant faced the possibility of a Bad Conduct Discharge and confinement for a maximum of twelve months.

Duane Kees was able to negotiate the case to an Article 15 and an administrative separation. The Staff Sergeant was reduced to the rank of Senior Airman and was discharged with a general discharge.
