After 7 days of trial a federal jury in the Northern District of Texas (Dallas) returned a verdict of NOT GUILTY on all counts of an 11 count indictment on charges of forced labor, document servitude, conspiracy and use of a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime. The defendant, Mohammad Abuawad, represented by AHLG Senior Counsel, Asa Hutchinson, and associate Kristi Hunter, was acquitted on all charges.
The case was prosecuted by the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division and the United States Attorney's office.
