Senior Partner Asa Hutchinson sat down with CBS NEWS to discuss electronic device searches at the border.
The article, "Border Searches of Electronic Devices Challenged," noted that 11,890 travelers have had their electronic devices searched at U.S. border crossings during the past three years.
"If you're going to hold somebody's device for 24 hours, it would appear to me that you would need to have some probable cause in order to continue searching," Hutchinson said.
Hutchinson said he believes the current policy is not a good balance between security and privacy, and that it should not be the reputation of the U.S. that business travelers shouldn't travel with their lap tops.
